Privacy Policy

Every conversion, preview and repair on this site is performed by JavaScript running inside your own browser. The file you select is read from your device's disk into the tab's memory, parsed there, and written back out as a download.

We do not receive your .msg files. We do not have an upload endpoint, a storage bucket, or a database of converted documents. Message bodies, headers, recipient addresses and attachments are never transmitted to us, and therefore cannot be read, logged, sold, or handed to anyone else. Closing or reloading the tab discards everything.

Because nothing is stored, there is nothing for us to delete later and no retention period to describe.

We do not ask you to create an account and we do not collect names, email addresses, or payment details in order for you to use the converter.

Like almost all websites, our hosting provider processes standard technical request data — IP address, user agent, requested URL, timestamp — in order to serve pages and protect against abuse. We use aggregate, non-identifying traffic figures to understand which tools are worth improving.

If you email us, we obviously hold that email and whatever you chose to put in it, for as long as needed to deal with your question.

This site is free and is funded by advertising. We use Google AdSense, a third-party advertising service operated by Google, to display adverts on some pages.

Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve adverts on this site. Google's use of advertising cookies — including the DoubleClick DART cookie — enables it and its partners to serve adverts to you based on your visits to this site and other sites on the internet. This means Google may collect and use certain data about your browsing behaviour, such as pages viewed, approximate location derived from your IP address, device and browser characteristics, and interactions with adverts, in order to select which adverts to show and to measure their performance.

Third-party advertising networks may also place their own cookies or similar technologies through the ad slots. We do not control those cookies, and we never pass the contents of your files or any information about them to Google or to any advertiser — the ad code has no access to the conversion running in the page.

You can opt out of personalised advertising by Google at any time by visiting Google's Ads Settings at adssettings.google.com and turning off ad personalisation. You will still see adverts, but they will not be tailored to your browsing history.

To opt out of personalised advertising from many other vendors at once, visit aboutads.info/choices or optout.networkadvertising.org. Google also explains how it uses data from partner sites at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

In addition, your browser lets you block or delete cookies entirely, and you may use an ad or tracker blocker if you prefer. None of these choices will break the converter, because the conversion does not depend on cookies or on the advertising scripts.

Where the law requires it, visitors from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are shown a consent message before non-essential advertising cookies are set, and can accept, refuse, or change their choice later. Refusing consent means adverts are served non-personalised rather than removed.

This site is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or erase personal data held about you, and to object to certain processing. Since we hold no file contents and no account data, such requests will usually concern advertising data held by Google rather than by us; we will help where we can and point you to the right controller where we cannot.
